Imperial Hotel Wonderland 2023
Studio KipKop, a creative partnership with Tamar Yogev, specializes in combining artistry and design to craft immersive experiences. As part of the Imperial Hotel Wonderland 2023 pop-up exhibition in Tel Aviv, we transformed a hotel room into a vibrant homage to the city’s iconic tile designs, blending the whimsical style of Alice in Wonderland with vintage Tel Aviv architecture.
Our project celebrated the colorful tile patterns that once defined Tel Aviv’s historic apartments but are now vanishing in modern renovations. By reimagining these patterns, we honored their role in shaping the city’s architectural identity. The designs were carefully curated and brought to life using a mix of traditional and modern techniques, ensuring a nostalgic yet contemporary aesthetic.
The room was a showcase of diverse artistic approaches. We recreated vintage tile patterns through stenciling, hand-painting, sewing, and digital printing.
These patterns extended beyond walls and floors, integrating into textiles, props, and decor. Through meticulous attention to detail and teamwork, Studio KipKop delivered an immersive, surreal experience that captured the spirit of both Tel Aviv and Wonderland.
